Itinerary

Tour details

Day 1: 0900hrs - Pick up from the hotel and depart for about 1hr 30min drive to Sematan town. Early lunch at a local coffee shop then proceed for another 30min drive to Telok Serabang jetty. Depart jetty to Tanjung Datu National Park (if the tide is low that prevent boat to land at Park jetty, arrive at small bay of Telok Upas and start walking towards Park Hq for about 15min. Upon arrival, registered for check into your accommodation (Forest Hut). Then, follow proceed hiking with your guide to the viewpoint trails then visit turtle hatchery. Free and easy in afternoon (relaxing or swim by the beach) while waiting dinner to be prepared by your guide. At night time, go for short night walk with your guide to search for wildlife such as wild boar, sambar deer, mouse deer and more. Return back to Park and take a stroll along the beach to see if any turtles come asshore to nest. Overnight (Lunch/Dinner)

Day 2: Breakfast. Proceed for jungle walk along the Pasir Antu trail and enjoy the forestry scenery while searching other wildlife. Along the trail, there is a small stream, take a short break and cool down before finishing the trail. Walk back to the Park for late lunch and check out. Depart Park jetty and return back to Telok Serabang. Upon arrival, spend a night at the homestay and free own leisure. Dinner will be served in the evening. Overnight. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Day 3: Breakfast and free own leisure. Check out. Depart by land to Sematan town and lunch at a local coffee shop. After lunch, return back to Kuching and transfer to the hotel. (Breakfast/Lunch)

Note:

  1. Very basic accommodation at Park HQ (Forest Hut) / Telok Serabang Homestay
  2. Turtle sighting is NOT guaranteed
  3. Park HQ is using generator to run the electricity
  4. This trip only available from March - September. During monsoon season, Tanjung Datu National Park is NOT accessible due to weather condition and high sea level.

Things to bring/wear;

  • Light comfortable clothes (quick dry)
  • Good walking shoes / sandals or flip flops / swim wear
  • Personal toiletries / personal medication / bring extra tissue or toilet paper 
  • Hat or cap / sunglasses
  • Insect repellent / sunblock lotion
  • Waterproof bag to keep your mobile phone / camera dry
  • Bring extra snacks / drinking water for the trekking as there is NO canteen available at the Park HQ
  • For more comfort, bring sleeping bag (if you have)
  • Waterproof bag for your overnight trip / bring extra pair of dry clothes with undies (incase too much sweat during trek)
